Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad released from Tihar Jail

By Press Trust of India: Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad, who was arrested in connection with the violence during an anti-CAA protest in Old Delhi's Daryaganj, was released from Tihar Jail on Thursday night, officials said.

Azad's outfit had organised a march from Jama Masjid to Jantar Mantar against the amended citizenship act on December 20, without police permission. He was sent to judicial custody on December 21.

On Wednesday, a Delhi court had granted bail to Azad, who was accused of inciting people during the anti-CAA protest at Jama Masjid.

The court also restrained Azad from visiting Delhi for four weeks and directed him not to hold any dharna till the elections in the national capital.

Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau had granted the relief to Azad on furnishing a bail bond of Rs 25,000.

While granting bail to Azad on Wednesday, the judge recited Rabindranath Tagore's famous poem 'Where the Mind is Without Fear' and said citizens have a fundamental right to peaceful protest which cannot be curtailed by the state.

"I am reminded of our reverend patriotic poet Rabindranath Tagore who is most relevant today. He during the colonial era in early 1900's when British followed the policy of Divide and Rule, visualised a nation where where there is no fear in the minds people and education is attained by all; people are enlightened and do not create walls of discrimination," she had said.The Bhim Army chief had gone to Jaipur to support the protest called by Covid Health Assistants, who want permanent positions. Activist Dharmendra Kumar told the Indian Express that the Bhim Army members were arrested to stop their involvement in the protest. “They were planning to support CHA on July 2. Jaipur police was also told that if the government does not want the protest to be held now, it can be postponed. Alternatively, a memorandum can be submitted to a government official. However, the police arrived around 12:30 am and picked up Azad and others,” he said.

Rights activist in the city have alleged that Azad’s arrest was illegal and due process was not followed. “Mr. Azad was sent to custody without getting any opportunity to be heard or to file a proper bail application through his lawyer,” The Hindu quoted Kumar as saying.

The People’s Union for Civil Liberties issues a statement condemning Azad’s arrest and questioning the process. “What was the urgency to arrest them in the middle of the night? The other 21 accused, all Dalits who were with Azad in the hotel, were also dragged out from their rooms and all 22 were arrested under CrPC section 151,” PUCL said.

Every year, Eid-ul-Fitr occurs approximately 10-11 days earlier depending on when the crescent moon is sighted since lunar months are shorter than solar months and so it varies from country to country by about a day.

Eid-ul-Fitr is a time of joy, unity and compassion for Muslims, who use the occasion to strengthen their bonds with family and friends and to reach out to those in need. It is a time to express gratitude to Allah for His blessings and to seek His forgiveness for any sins committed during Ramadan.

Star Plus show ‘Anupamaa’ is getting quite interesting with each passing episode. The current track of the show revolves around Anupamaa trying to start over after giving up on her dance academy. Anupamaa designed new posters for her dance school but doesn’t know how to start with everything.

In the upcoming episodes of the show, Anuj walks on the roads in rage and vents out his frustration by breaking a glass bottle. Devika arrives and tries to stop him but in vain. Anupama discusses the new dance school with Kanta and Bhavesh. They suggest that she should start the new dance academy at their house. They prep up for the same and get excited. At Shah house, the family is stunned to know that Anupamaa left the dance academy because of Dimpy.

Furthermore, Vanraj and their family discuss Dimpy’s selfish act. Dimpy asks them to stop blaming her.

Barkha and Maaya joined hands to keep Anupama and Anuj separated and hatch an evil plan. On the other hand, Devika reaches Mumbai to help Anuj realise his mistake. She tells him that for whom you came to Delhi is still not here and the one you left, is still with him, leaving Anuj in shock.

It was a wild second half at crypto.com arena, but it's the Los Angeles Lakers who are into the playoffs red-hot.

The purple and gold rallied back from down 15 points to win an overtime thriller in the play-in tournament over the Minnesota Timberwolves, 108-102.

Tied at 95, the Lakers had the ball with 21.7 seconds to go and the shot clock off. LeBron James inbounded to Dennis Schroder who gave it back to James. Covered by Taurean Prince, James drove toward the contested bucket and was able to find Schroder for a wide-open corner three, which he banged with 1.4 seconds to go.

Every day, it feels like a new fear-mongering headline or social media post declares that ChatGPT or some other AI model will eventually replace us. But if a real-life version of SkyNet is going to kill us all, take our jobs or both, it’s going to have to be a lot more advanced than the statistical models we have now, as the Lakers showed with their 108-102 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves to advance to the NBA playoffs on Tuesday night.

You see, those robots may be smart, but as someone on the Lakers’ coaching staff reminded the team ahead of their critical play-in matchup, at least one computer-generated equation gave the team just a 0.3% chance to make the postseason after they started 2-10.

Which analytics said that? I don’t know, and frankly I don’t know if the players did either.

Now, to be fair to that robot/software the Lakers ultimately made look like a dumbass on Tuesday, that was probably a safe bet at the time. After all, the Lakers are the first team in NBA history to make the playoffs after a start that bad. They definitely defied the odds to make this happen.

And it wasn’t like whatever model spit out those numbers was alone in not believing in the Lakers, either. As Lakers fan and receipt enthusiast Lakers Guru made sure to dig up after the win, as recently as February, one of the foremost basketball minds of our time — sixth-winningest coach in NBA history George Karl — was tweeting about how the Lakers couldn’t even draft vaunted prospect Victor Wembanyama with their draft pick when they missed the postseason.

Ukraine war: Who leaked top secret US documents - and why?

What to make of the dozens of classified US Defence Department documents - maps, charts and photographs - now circulating on the internet?

Complete with timelines and dozens of impenetrable military acronyms, the documents, some of them marked "top secret", paint a detailed picture of the war in Ukraine.

They tell of the casualties suffered on both sides, the military vulnerabilities of each and, crucially, what their relative strengths are likely to be when Ukraine decides to launch its much-anticipated spring offensive.

How real are these printed pages, unfolded and photographed, possibly on someone's dining room table? And what do they tell us, or the Kremlin, that we did not already know?

First things first: this is the biggest leak of secret American information on the war in Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion 14 months ago. Some of the documents are as much as six weeks old, but the implications are huge.

Pentagon officials are quoted as saying the documents are real.

Information on at least one of them appears to have been crudely altered in a later version, but out of a dump of as many as 100 documents, that seems a relatively minor detail.

BBC News has reviewed more than 20 of the documents. They include detailed accounts of the training and equipment being provided to Ukraine as it puts together a dozen new brigades for an offensive that could begin within weeks.

It says when the brigades will be ready and lists all the tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery pieces that are being provided by Ukraine's Western allies.

But it notes that "equipment delivery times will impact training and readiness".

Two Ukrainian army brigades defending the city's southern flank gave the BBC access to their positions last week as fierce fighting continued in and around Bakhmut. The men have spent months facing both regular Russian army forces, and prisoners recruited by the Wagner private military group who have swarmed their trenches in droves. Troops say Russian casualties far outweigh theirs, but the enemy is deploying new techniques to try to seize the city and surrounding countryside.

Ukraine's forces are outgunned and outnumbered, but on a chalk hillside to the south, there is the anti-tank group from the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. 3Storm - as they are known - are unyielding. They've dug trenches deep into the earth. Timber props supporting the roof shudder as Russian artillery lands in the near distance, and field mice scurry along duck boards. An antiquated field telephone sits in a wooden nook; these are conditions their grandfathers would recognise.

"They cannot get to us, we can see for a kilometre in all directions," says a bearded 26-year-old soldier who goes by the call sign "Dwarf", pointing out Russian positions. "We can hit the enemy with everything we have," he says.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan , also known by the initialism KKBKKJ, is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Salman Khan Films. The film stars Salman Khan, Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde and Jagapathi Babu with an ensemble supporting cast.

Principal photography began in May 2022 and ended in February 2023 with filming taking place in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ladakh. It is scheduled for release on 21 April 2023, coinciding with Eid festival.

Development

Director Farhad Samji initially sought to remake the 2014 Tamil film Veeram as Bachchhan Paandey (previously titled Land of Lungi) with Akshay Kumar. However later, he changed the script of Bachchhan Paandey to be the remake of another Tamil film Jigarthanda instead. As Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment held the remake rights of both the films, Samji tweaked Veeram's story and pitched to Salman Khan who accepted the film. Later, Nadiadwala walked out of the project and gave the rights to Khan, who then decided to make the film under his banner Salman Khan Films.

The film was announced on 10 January 2020 with the title Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. However, it was later postponed for a longtime and suffered numerous pre-production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and later it was revived with the reported title Bhaijaan. However, in August 2022, the film's official title was announced as Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

In June 2022, Bollywood Hungama reported that Ravi Basrur was approached to compose the background score and one song. The source also claimed that Devi Sri Prasad, who was earlier signed for the film, opted out of the project.^[19] Prasad, however, denied the rumors, saying that he had already composed a dance number for the film.^[20] Himesh Reshammiya, Sajid Khan, Sukhbir, Payal Dev, Devi Sri Prasad, Ravi Basrur and Amaal Mallik have been signed to compose songs as well.^[21]

The teaser of the song "Naiyo Lagda" was showcased during the grand finale of Bigg Boss 16 and a day later, on 12 February 2023, the song was released on YouTube and other music platforms.^[22] The second single titled "Billi Billi" was released on 2 March 2023.^[23][24] The third single "Jee Rahe The Hum (Falling in Love)", sung by Salman Khan was released on 21 March 2023.^[25] The fourth single titled "Bathukamma" was released on 31 March 2023.^[26] The fifth single titled "Yentamma" was released on 4 April 2023.^[27]
