Lionel Messi

Watch: Lionel Messi marks 36th birthday with stunning free-kick in emotional return to boyhood club Newell's Old Boys

Lionel Messi was in hot form on his 36th birthday, scoring a brilliant hattrick in Maxi Rodriguez' testimonial match on Saturday (June 24). The testimonial match saw Argentina take on Newell's Old Boys, and it also included the likes of Lionel Scaloni and former player Sergio Aguero. It was an emotional return for Messi, as he had started his career with Newell's.

The main focus in the match was on Messi, as he received a brilliant reception from fans, who also went bonkers after his free kick. In the fourth minute, Argentina received a free-kick from outside the box, and Messi simply placed it in the top-right corner. Such was the brilliance of the goal that Maxi couldn't help but smile in his testimonial match.

After the match, Messi spoke about leading Argentina to 2022 FIFA World Cup glory in Qatar in December. Speaking to the media, he said, “As I said at the time: it was our turn to be world champions, but behind us were millions of impressive players who did many great things with the National Team, beyond the fact that they did not raise a cup.”

Speaking about his retirement plans, he added, “Although what we did is something special (winning the World Cup) and unique, the dream of every footballer... you're thinking about what's to come, more than what you did. When it's my turn to leave football, I'm going to remember and enjoy everything I've achieved much more.”

He left PSG after the 2022-23 Ligue 1 season as a free agent and signed a deal with MLS side Inter Miami. He had an unceremonious exit from Paris as PSG fans jeered him in his final fixture for the club.

Messi led Argentina to a penalty shootout victory against France in the final, at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar. In what turned out to be a tightly-contested final, Argentina took the lead in the 23rd-minute, with Messi converting a penalty after Angel Di Maria was fouled in the box by Ousmane Dembele.

Then a quick counter in the 36th-minute saw Messi flick a ball past his marker to pick out Alexis Mac Allister's run. The Brighton midfielder surged into the box, before squaring it to Di Maria, who beat a rushing Lloris with a bottom corner finish to make it 2-0 for Argentina.

It looked like Argentina were cruising to an easy win, but Kylian Mbappe had other plans and brought France back into the game with two goals in 97 seconds. In the 80th-minute, the PSG star converted a penalty to make it 1-2 after Kolo Muani was brought down in the Argentine box. Then the 23-year-old made it 2-2 with a stunning volley in the 81st-minute.

Mira road (Saraswati murder case)

 Mira road (Saraswati murder case)

Mumbai Mira Road murder accused Manoj Sane told police he contracted HIV in 2008 and never had any physical relationship with Saraswati Vaidya.Manoj Sane, the accused of the grisly murder of Mumbai Mira Road, told the Police that he never had any physical relationship with his live-in partner 32-year-old Saraswati Vaidya as he is HIV positive, an Indian Express report said. Manoj has been accused of killing Saraswati, chopping up her body into parts and then boiling them in a pressure cooker for disposal. They have been living together at the Mira Road flat for the past three years though they knew each other since 2014. Manoj told police he met Saraswati 16 years ago at a ration shop where he used to work at that time.

Manoj Sane says Saraswati was possessive

Manoj told police Saraswati was like 'his daughter' and was very possessive about him. As the cops found a board on one of the walls of the flat where the couple lived, Manoj Sane said he taught Saraswati Maths as the 32-year-old was planning to appear for Class 10 SSC exams.

Dubious relationship, no involvement of relatives: New twist in Mumbai Mira Road murder case

Police on Thursday said victim Saraswati Vaidya was an orphan and she had no relatives. However, on Friday, Saraswati's three sisters reached the Naya Nagar Police station to record their statements.

While Manoj Sane and Saraswati Vaidya were known to be a live-in couple to their neighbours, Saraswati's version was similar to Manoj's. A worker at the orphanage where Saraswati grew up said she told them that she was staying with her uncle.

Saraswati Vaidya murder: Here is what we know so far

1. Cops were alerted by the neighbours of Vaidya and Sane of a foul smell coming from their flat on Wednesday evening.

2. As cops reached the Mira Nagar flat, they found Manoj Sane in the kitchen, about to boil the feet of Saraswati Vaidya, his live-in partner.

3. The remains of Saraswati's body parts were found across the flat wrapped in plastic bags. Manoj Sane reportedly cut Saraswari's body into pieces with a tree cutter and then roasted and boiled them.

4. Accused Manoj Sane was arrested. He admitted to having cut the body to get rid of it, but he claimed Saraswati consumed poison. Manoj Sane said she had poison on June 4. When Sane found her body, he was scared and wanted to get rid of the body.

5. Sane and Vaidya knew each other since 2014. They met at a ration shop where Sane used to work.

6. Sane told police Vaidya was like his daughter and he never had any physical relationship with her as he is HIV+.

7. Vaidya grew up in an orphanage where she informed that she was living with her uncle.

8. Manoj Sane told police that he had an industrial training institute certificate but got no decent job and continued working in the ration shop. Vaidya told her orphanage that her uncle' Sane was very rich and owned a cloth mill.

9. Since Saraswati Vaidya grew up in an orphanage, earlier cops ruled out the possibility of any relatives being there. On Friday, however, three sisters of Saraswati Vaidya reached the police station to record their statements.

The three sisters of 32-year-old Saraswati Vaidya who was allegedly killed by her live-in partner Manoj Sane told the police on Friday that Saraswati and Manoj were not live-in partners but husband and wife. The marriage was possibly kept a secret because of their age gap. Manoj Sane is 56 years old while Saraswati was 32. It is not yet known when the duo got married. They got married in a temple, DCP Jayant Bajbale said. "They did not inform many people about the marriage because of their age difference," the DCP said adding that the DNA of the remains of Saraswati's body will be matched with the three sisters. Read | Mumbai Mira Road murder accused claims to be HIV+, says Saraswati was possessive: Report

Earlier, Australia had scored 73/2 at lunch at the Oval on Wednesday. India took out the on-song David Warner at 43 right before the break while Usman Khawaja fell for a duck courtesy of Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj respectively. Apple iOS 17

Apple's iOS 17 to drop support for many iPhones, see if yours is on the list

Check out the supported devices for the upcoming iOS, iPadOS, WatchOS, MacOS, tvOS and WatchOS

Apple is gearing up for its annual fall release of the latest operating systems across its product lineup. As tradition dictates, the tech giant will inevitably leave some older devices behind. If you happen to still own an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, or an iPhone X (which, let's be honest, was a fantastic device), you won't be able to update to the upcoming iOS 17. To install the new OS, your iPhone must be equipped with an A12 Bionic chip or a later version.

However, if you own an iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, iPhone SE (second-gen), or any newer models, you'll have access to a range of exciting features, including Live Voicemail transcripts, the StandBy display mode, and improved autocorrect.

For iPad users, Apple has a host of additions in store for the upcoming iPadOS. Customisable lock screens, an enhanced Health app, interactive widgets, and many more features are set to grace the iPad experience. Unfortunately, owners of the fifth-generation iPad and the first-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro will not be able to install iPadOS 17. However, the following iPad models will be supported: iPad (6th generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation and later), 10.5-inch iPad Pro, 11-inch iPad Pro (1st generation and later)

Apple Watch users can breathe a sigh of relief as all devices running watchOS 9 will continue to receive support. Those fortunate enough to own an Apple Watch Series 4 or a later model will be able to enjoy the forthcoming watchOS 10, which emphasises widgets and brings enhancements to apps like Cycling and Compass, among other exciting updates.

Mac users can also expect some notable changes with the introduction of macOS Sonoma. Alongside a range of features, this desktop and laptop operating system will introduce a Game Mode that optimises CPU and GPU performance, leading to higher framerates for gaming enthusiasts. The following Mac models will support macOS Sonoma: iMac (2019 and later), Mac Pro (2019 and later), iMac Pro (2017), Mac Studio (2022 and later), MacBook Air (2018 and later), Mac mini (2018 and later), MacBook Pro (2018 and later)

Last year's major update, macOS Ventura, was compatible with the iMac models from 2017 and later, the Mac Pro models from 2019 and later, the iMac Pro from 2017, the MacBook Air models from 2018 and later, the Mac mini models from 2018 and later, and the MacBook and MacBook Pro models from 2017 and later.

Finally, tvOS 17 will bring long-awaited FaceTime capabilities to Apple TV. Additionally, users can rejoice in the ability to locate a misplaced remote using their iPhone, among other new features. This operating system will be available for both Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD.

Yogi Adityanath

Yogi Adityanath

(Ajay Mohan Singh Bisht; born 5 June 1972) Yogi Adityanath[6][1][7][a]Since March 19, 2017, [9]—an Indian Hindu monk and politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party—has held the position of Uttar Pradesh's 21st and current chief minister. In addition, he has held the position of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the longest amount of time—more than six years—eclipsing Sampurnanand.[10] Since 2022, he has served as the representative for the Gorakhpur Urban Assembly seat in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. From 2017 to 2022, he served as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. He served as a member of the Lok Sabha representing the Uttar Pradesh district of Gorakhpur from 1998 until 2017, when he resigned to take the position of

childhood and education

In a Rajput family, Yogi Adityanath was born on June 5, 1972, as Ajay Mohan Singh Bisht in the village of Panchur, Pauri Garhwal, Uttar Pradesh (now in Uttarakhand).[1][7][19][20][21] Anand Singh Bisht, his deceased father, was a forest ranger. He was one of six children—four brothers and three sisters—and the family's second-born.[24] In Uttarakhand, at the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, he earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics.[25][26]

Around the 1990s, he relocated to join the drive for the Ayodhya Ram temple. At about the same time, Mahant Avaidyanath, the leader of the Gorakhnath Math, accepted him as a disciple.[25] The push for the Ayodhya Ram temple was being led at the time by Mahant Avaidyanath. Adityanath, who was based in Gorakhpur after his initiation,

first political office

Yogi Adityanath is a member of the Hindutva political lineage in Uttar Pradesh, which dates back to Mahant Digvijay Nath, who oversaw the erection of idols inside the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on December 22, 1949. Both Digvijay Nath and his successor Avaidyanath were members of the Hindu Mahasabha and were chosen to represent their respective parties in the Parliament. The two schools of Hindu nationalism converged in the 1980s when the BJP and the Sangh Parivar joined the Ayodhya movement. In 1991, Avaidyanath joined the BJP, but he still exercised considerable independence. Adityanath was elected to the Lok Sabha, the Lower House of the Indian Parliament, four years after being named Avaidyanath's successor.

After he won his first election,

He made the connections between Indian Leftist parties and Nepali Maoists a central campaign theme in 2006 and urged Madhesi leaders to resist Maoism in Nepal.[13][32] His convoy was allegedly ambushed in 2008 as it travelled to Azamgarh for a rally against terrorism. One person was killed in the incident, and at least six other people were hurt.[33][34]

Adityanath and other BJP officials gathered in January 2007 to mourn the loss of a guy who had been slain as a result of religious violence. The police later detained him and his followers and imprisoned them in Gorkhapur jail on allegations of upsetting the peace and disobeying prohibitory orders. His arrest sparked additional disturbances, during which six coaches of the Mumbai-Gorakhpur Godan Express were allegedly set on fire by him.

BJP-related relationships

Relations between Adityanath and the BJP have been tense for more than ten years.[41] He frequently mocked and attacked the BJP, denouncing its weakening of Hindutva doctrine.[42] He felt certain that he could impose his will on the BJP because he had created his own independent power base in Eastern Uttar Pradesh with the help of the Hindu Yuva Vahini and the Gorakhnath Math.[Reference needed] He revolted by running candidates against the official BJP candidates when his voice was not heeded. The most notable instance was the selection of Radha Mohan Das Agarwal from Gorakhpur on a Hindu Mahasabha ticket in 2002, who went on to easily defeat Shiv Pratap Shukla, a cabinet member for the BJP.[42] Adityanath threatened to run 70 candidates in 2007.

Odisha Train Accident

Odisha train accident: Over 230 dead, 900 injured; PM announces ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to kin of deceased

The Coromandel Express train accident in Balasore district of Odisha, which left close to 300 people dead and more than 900 injured, may have been caused by human error, initial reports from the signalling control room of the railways suggest.
The train apparently took the wrong track, minutes before the accident occurred, according to the video footage from the signalling control room of the Kharagpur division of the Railways. Instead of following the main line, the Chennai-bound Coromandel Express mistakenly entered a loop line where a goods train was parked, shortly after passing Bahanagar Bazar station at approximately 6:55 pm on Friday.

However, a more comprehensive investigation is required to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.

“How it happened and why it happened, will be found in the detailed inquiry that the railway board has ordered. But, prima facie it appears to be a human error," the official, who asked not to be named, said, as reported by Hindustan Times

According to the same official, a similar accident occurred in 1995 in Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh, where three trains collided. Around 350 persons were killed in that accident and the rescue operations went on for three days.

Toll rises to 261 and rescue operations completed

The Coromandel Express, running at about 127 km per hour, collided with the goods train and derailed on the main line, an official from the railway ministry said. Within minutes of the collision, the official cited above said that the Howrah-bound Yashwantnagar Express coming from the opposite side collided with the Coromandel Express. The disastrous accident occurred around 7.30 pm on Friday.

The toll in the disastrous accident has risen to 261 and rescue operations at the site have been completed, a South Eastern Railway official said on Saturday.

"The number of casualties in Friday's railway accident has increased to 261. Another 650 injured passengers are being treated at various hospitals in Odisha," SER spokesperson Aditya Chowdhury said.

An enquiry into the accident will be held by the commissioner of railway safety (CRS), South Eastern circle, the official said.

Stokes was born in New Zealand and later immigrated to England. He played for England's ODI side from 2011 till his retirement from the format in July 2022. He made his T20I debut in 2011 and his Test debut in 2013. He was a member of the England squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He led the team in runs scored throughout England's final innings before coming out to bat in the tied Super Over and taking home the Man of the Match trophy. He received the ICC Award for Best Men's Cricketer and the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards in 2019, and he was named the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World in 2019, 2020, and 2023. Stokes is an all-rounder who bats in the middle of the order with his left hand and bowls right-arm quick. At number six, he holds the Test record for the most runs scored in an inning (258 against South Africa in England's 2015–16 tour). He and Jonny Bairstow achieved a 399-run sixth-wicket stand in the same Test, which set a world record. He broke Brendan McCullum's previous record of 107 sixes in a Test career in February 2023, setting a new record for the total amount of sixes hit in a Test career.

Early years

Benjamin Andrew Stokes, who has some Mori ancestry, was born on June 4, 1991, in Christchurch, New Zealand. He is the son of rugby league player and coach Gerard Stokes (sometimes known as "Ged"). After his father was named the head coach of Workington Town rugby league team at the age of 12[4], Stokes relocated to England. He was raised in the small West Cumbrian town of Cockermouth, where he attended Cockermouth School and played cricket for Cockermouth Cricket team.In 2006, when he was 15 years old, he and the team won the North Lancashire & Cumbria Cricket League Premier Division Title. After that, his parents relocated back to Christchurch, New Zealand;[4] On December 8, 2020, Ged Stokes passed away in New Zealand from brain cancer.

Domestic work

In 2009, Stokes made his one-day debut for Durham at The Oval, where he managed to dismiss the seasoned batsman Mark Ramprakash with just his third professional ball. In 2009, he participated in two youth tests against Bangladesh U19, where he scored fifty and claimed a few wickets. Later, he participated in the 2010 Under-19 World Cup, scoring a century against the India Under-19 team.
When Durham faced the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in the customary season-opening match, which was held in 2010 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Stokes made his first-class debut for Durham. He scored a half-century and took one wicket in that game. He also made his Durham Championship debut in a match against Essex at the opening of the 2010 County Cricket Season. On May 13, 2010, he scored his first-ever first-class century at Trent Bridge against Nottinghamshire. Additionally, he has competed for Durham in the Clydesdale Bank 40-over league. Stokes continued to play for Durham in all phases of the game as a result of Durham's ongoing issues with numerous players becoming hurt at the beginning of the 2010 season.
He was offered a spot in the England Performance Programme after a very good first-class cricket debut season, and he went to Australia for the 2010–11 Ashes.
In addition to playing a significant role in Durham's 2013 County Championship victory, Stokes was also voted Man of the Match in the 2014 Royal London One-Day Cup Final at Lord's after scoring 38* and grabbing two wickets in a low-scoring match against Warwickshire.
As a stand-in for Jesse Ryder, who was sidelined by an injury, Stokes signed on with the Melbourne Renegades of the Big Bash League of Australia on January 2, 2015.
Stokes was selected vice-captain of England's test team on February 13, 2017.
